Termination & connection
When should you call us?
- Cables already pulled but not terminated, left loose in the rack or in the walls.
- Damaged, pulled-out or badly terminated wall jacks or keystone jacks.
- Lost mapping between office wall jacks and patch panel ports.
- Moving from cables plugged directly into switches to proper patch panels.
How we work
A network link is only reliable if both of its ends are properly terminated. We prepare the cables, punch down RJ45 keystone jacks following the wiring scheme already in place, terminate the wall jacks and map each jack to its patch panel port.
We terminate both ends of every link: on the user side (wall jack) and on the rack side (RJ45 keystone jack on a patch panel). Both ends are labeled and you receive the jack-to-panel mapping table.
What the service includes
- Cable preparation
- Fitting RJ45 keystone jacks
- Punching down RJ45 keystone jacks
- Following the wiring scheme in use
- Preparing cable ends
- Crimping where required
- Terminating wall jacks
- Labeling both ends
- Visual inspection of terminations
- Continuity check when the tools allow
- Cable management inside the rack
- Mapping wall jacks to patch panel ports
The tasks selected for your job are detailed in the quote.
How the job is carried out
- 01
Existing setup review
Identification of the cables to terminate, the wiring scheme in use (T568A or T568B) and the hardware in place.
- 02
Cable end preparation
Cutting to length, careful jacket stripping, keeping the twisted pairs intact as close as possible to the termination point.
- 03
Termination
Fitting and punching down RJ45 keystone jacks and wall jacks, crimping when the link requires it.
- 04
Labeling
Labeling both ends and updating the jack-to-panel mapping.
- 05
Inspection
Visual inspection of every termination and continuity check when the tools allow.
Every link can be traced and identified from the user's wall jack to the patch panel.
- 01Wall jack
- 02Cable
- 03RJ45 keystone jack
- 04Patch panel
What is not included
- Pulling new cables is part of the Network cabling service and is quoted separately if needed.
- Checks cover continuity and termination; link performance certification is not offered at this time.
- Troubleshooting software-level network issues (addressing, configuration) is not included.
